Ed Kavanaugh

Ed works as a peer mentor for catastrophic, life treating injury patients at Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago.

In 2002, at age 23, Ed was injured while riding a snowmobile and shattered his spine, with fractures of 9th, 10th, and 11th vertebrae of his back, resulting in him now being a paraplegic. He lives a very independent life and counsels patients and volunteers for Dreams For Kids events.

Ed previously worked with the Blue Island Police Department as a 911 Dispatcher. He also co-owned Jayco Building Maintenance and worked as a Foreman for D.J.M. Construction Inc.

Ed attended Moraine Valley Community College to obtain a degree in business.
