Childhood Dream: To become a gymnast.

Shelly joined Tom Tuohy and the Dreams for Kids adventures in 1989. She has been involved in every aspect of Dreams for Kids from the very beginning. Before Dreams for Kids, she was a licensed Cosmetologist and managed three Fantastic Sam’s hair salon franchises for several years. Shelly then attended Moraine Valley School for Business while working with the Law Firm of Susan E. Logans & Associates. While working with Tuohy Law Offices she has also obtained her Insurance Producer licenses.
Shelly was born in Evergreen Park and raised in Palos Heights. She has always enjoyed working with other people and organizing events. Dreams for Kids is a perfect fit. She now, with the help of the Dream Team, oversees the day to day operations of the organization and works with the team on the programs and the events. These responsibilities have given her the opportunity throughout the years to meet thousands of amazing people, learn very exciting new ideas, help plan numerous spectacular events, and make a difference.
On Shelly’s “down time” she spends as much time as she can with her family, hangs with her friends, taking vacations and goofing off!
