India
Cause
In a small village in Maharastra, India called Pusla, the only chance a child has for an education is coming to a 127 year old school crowded with over 400 students. The debilitating lack of basic human needs prevents the country’s most talented and intelligent young people from pursuing their dreams and instilling social change in their communities. What keeps the people of Pula and other villages like Delhi, Nimboli, and Nagpur fighting for survival is that glimmer of hope that life in India could some day change.
Mission
What started as a dream to carry on a mother’s gift has now turned into a vision to increase the opportunities for our brothers and sisters in India. Our mission is to provide the environment, training, and resources necessary to help Indian children develop their creativity and artistic talents. Our pursuits will range from addressing basic needs such as clean drinking water to access to education to accessibility for children with disabilities.
Opportunity
We can make an extraordinary difference in these villages by not only giving families the basic necessities of life and access to education, but by also giving children the opportunity to develop their talents and artistic creativity.
Plan of Action
Our projects will be implemented through the collaboration of Dreams for Kids’ India Projects Director, Vivek Bhagwatker and Ayuda Shilip, an Indian Non-Profit that loosely means “Support of the Creative Talent Formation Process.” Some immediate goals include building wells for clean drinking water for each village, developing plans to build schools where none exist, creating art workshops in the schools, developing an art exchange program with the US Dream Leaders program, and supplying adaptive equipment for children with disabilities.
Financing
Dreams for Kids is always looking to grow and develop new initiatives throughout the world. However, these life-changing projects would not be possible without support from individuals and corporations. Get involved today by donating to support any of these causes or by contacting us for more details.
