Discovering Found Object Puppetry with Rough House Theater
Throughout history and around the world, humans have used puppets to pass down stories, share cultural practices, and revolt against censorship. A Show of Hands is a course in which students explore how they can use puppetry to communicate about issues that are important to they. They experiment with constructing and manipulating different types of puppets, develop your own story and screenplay, and put on your very own puppet show.
Claire from Rough House Theater introduced the students to the world of found object puppetry. Students brought everyday objects to life using the principles of puppetry and learned to see the possibility for a puppet show everywhere!
